The Code and Theory Network has expanded to include agencies such as Instrument and Left Field Labs. The move aligns Stagwell’s digital transformation agencies under the Code and Theory Network to strengthen its digital transformation capabilities.

This expansion bolsters the Code and Theory Network, Stagwell’s digital transformation network, backed by 50% engineers and 50% creatives at scale.

The Code and Theory Network now consists of Code and Theory, Instrument, Kettle, Left Field Labs (LFL), Mediacurrent, Rhythm and Truelogic.

Dan Gardner, co-founder and executive chair of Code and Theory, said that AI and other emerging technologies are transforming companies, though there is still a lot of confusing noise and hype. He believes Code and Theory’s newly strengthened network will now be able to lead clients and consumers through the changes.

“With the addition of these new companies, we have created the ultimate challenger agency to the legacy consultancies and rigid holding companies that can’t deliver the modern model required to outperform our clients’ expectations,” said Gardner in a statement.

The expanded Code and Theory Network will serve as a strategic partner in AI-driven transformation, utilizing a human-led, tech-powered approach for its clients.

The new network agencies

Instrument is an 18-year-old design and technology company with offices in Portland, Oregon, Brooklyn and Los Angeles. With an all-women C-suite, it was awarded Best Workplace for Women in Innovation by Fast Co. in 2022. Instrument continues to experience growth with clients including  Splice, Nike, Google and ShiftKey, working across brand, product and marketing verticals.

“Being part of the Code and Theory Network gives Instrument the scale to deliver on a global stage as we look to our next chapter of growth. We are committed to finding forward-looking solutions for age-old challenges—creating work that has a lasting impact,” said Laurel Burton, CEO of Instrument, in a statement.

Left Field Labs is a creative technology and innovation partner for brands including Amazon, Disney, Verizon and Uber. It was founded in 2008 and is based in Southern California. Recently, LFL spotlighted Google Search’s new modalities utilizing AI and AR. LFL conceptualized, designed and built a new website to drive product demos and Google app downloads, which launched to celebrate Search’s 25th anniversary.

“As a part of the Code and Theory Network, Left Field Labs can offer our clients the opportunity to innovate at scale to build for the future. The network shares a fundamental belief that convergence of emerging technologies will change businesses, industries and the internet as a whole,” said Sarah Richardson Mehler, CEO, Left Field Labs in a statement.
