Mirand Kerr believes that skin care should extend from the neck down.”It’s so important to take care of our bodies like we do our face,” she says. So it was a natural next step for her to improve and expand the body-care offerings from her beauty line Kora Organics.

“I really want to keep my skin as firm as possible for as long as possible,” says Kerr, who turns 40 next April. “I make sure that I always moisturize morning and night religiously. For me, it doesn’t matter how late I’m up or if I’ve just given birth or if I got back from late travel, or whatever the situation is. I always make sure I do my morning and night routine because you feel so much better when you take that moment for yourself.”

Kerr and her team spent two years revamping the brand’s body wash ($48) and body lotion ($55) while also launching the new Invigorating Body Scrub ($60). These new products are packaged in recycled plastics. “Not only can you recycle them, but they’re made of 100 percent recycled plastic,” says Kerr. “We’re also a climate-neutral brand, which is something that we’re very proud of as well.”

Invigorating Body Scrub

Invigorating Body Scrub — $60.00

This body scrub is packed with anti-inflammatory and brightening tumeric, moisturizing rosehip, and exfoliating sugar. Kerr decided to create this scrub after people were using Kora’s Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment face mask ($50) on their bodies.

“I actually started using this all over my body and I was so addicted to that tingling sensation because it has in there, peppermint, lemon, and cedarwood aromatherapy,” says Kerr. “I also received some really great feedback from a dermatologist friend of mine who was prescribing this for keratosis pilaris on the back of the arms. And he was basically giving this to people and it was the only thing that was helping them with that little issue on the back of their arms. And so I thought I might as well make a body scrub version.”

Renewing Hand and Body Wash

Renewing Hand and Body Wash — $48.00

Previously, Kora sold sperate hand and body washes. For the revamp, Kerr decided to make them into one. “I really feel like it’s better for the environment to have one product that’s dual purpose,” says Kerr. Plus, she amped up the ingredients. “We included cauliflower mushroom, which basically is super great for hydrating your skin and protecting your skin. And so when you are cleansing your skin, you want to be really cautious of not over-stripping your skin. And so that’s why this ingredient, the cauliflower mushroom, which is actually one of our active ingredients in our milky mushroom cleanser, we were inspired by that to really reinvigorate this. And it has in there also aloe vera, noni, and murumuru. It really cleanses your skin without stripping or drying it.”

Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion

Nourishing Hand and Body Lotion — $55.00

“The hero ingredient in this is the microalgae,” says Kerr. “It’s so hydrating without being sticky. And that’s what I love about it because it strengthens your skin and hydrates your skin, the microalgae, without that tacky feeling. And then the aromatherapy we use in this is rose, geranium, and basil, which is very soothing and very calming.” And like the wash, this lotion was designed for both the hands and body.

Since the skin is our largest organ, Kerr is big on using organic ingredients to nourish it. Kora Organics is certified organic by Ecocert COSMOS.

“The reason why a lot of people eat certified organic is that there are up to 60 percent more antioxidants in certified organic ingredients,” she says. “So with your skin care, not only are you avoiding the use of unnecessary pesticides sprayed onto the ingredients, but you’re also getting greater benefits. That’s why I feel like our products are getting such incredible results.” Plus, they’re so gentle that she’s been using them on herself and her kids throughout the testing period. “I really am proud of these products,” she says.
