Fresh off of the whirlwind launch of her new beauty brand, Rhode Skin, Hailey Bieber has noticed the effects of stress on her skin. In a recent TikTok, she shared that her complexion has been irritated, so she’s doing what she can to calm inflammation and get it back to its happy homeostasis.
“For the past week, my skin has been a little angry and irritated for I think a few factors: stress, travel, lack of sleep, PMS, [and] testing out a new product,” Bieber wrote in a recent TikTok. “Usually when my skin gets like this I only reach for products that will help calm and heal the skin while keeping bacteria away.”

The star of this lightweight gel serum from Bieber’s new line is peptides, which help to strengthen the skin. “There are various types of peptides that are found in skin care,” says Rachel Nazarian, MD, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York City. “I’m not totally clear on which ones are being used in [the Rhode Skin] products, but generally speaking, I find them to be a great addition to most people’s skin-care regimen as well, primarily because of their efficacy in increasing collagen and elastin formation, essentially ‘anti-aging.’” The formula also includes soothing niacinamide, hydrating hyaluronic acid, and softening marula oil—a trifecta for calming irritated skin.
Rhode Skin Barrier Repair Cream — $29.00
This rich cream moisturizer is made with moisturizing shea butter, calming squalane, plumping peptides, protective açai, and nourishing niacinamide. It’s rich in natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients “which neutralize free-radical damage, meaning it’s a great product if you live in highly polluted areas or areas where there’s a lot of environmental stressors,” says Dr. Nazarian. “Topical antioxidants such as açai can help minimize premature aging due to free-radical damage.”
