In the face of a challenging political environment, national Democrats are engaged in an unprecedented effort to elevate fringe Republican candidates endorsed by Donald Trump. The latest example is in Maryland, where the Democratic Governors Association successfully dropped $2 million on campaign literature and TV ads to help a QAnon conspiracy theorist, Dan Cox, secure the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
