Buta Biberaj this week conceded she lost to Republican Bob Anderson in her bid for re-election as Loudoun County’s Commonwealth Attorney. It was a small margin—300 votes—but a big victory in an election that otherwise saw Democrats keep the state Senate and take the House.

Ms. Biberaj is a progressive, George Soros-financed prosecutor, and Mr. Anderson campaigned as a law-and-order candidate. Ms. Biberaj had stopped prosecuting some misdemeanors, and she pointed to the drop in violent crime during her watch as evidence of her success.
