Tim Scott recognized political reality on Sunday evening by announcing the end of his presidential campaign, and he deserves credit for his timing and his contributions to the race.

“When I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate,” the Senator said on Fox News. American voters “who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they’re telling me, not now, Tim.” He said he didn’t think voters were ruling him out in the future, but they are for 2024.
